ABOUT Michael Markowski

Michael Markowski is known for his innovative compositions that blend traditional concert band elements with modern influences. His works often exhibit rhythmic vitality, rich harmonic textures, and a keen sense of orchestration. Despite holding a degree in 'Film Practices' from Arizona State University, Markowski has made significant contributions to wind ensemble and orchestral music

• "Joyride": A dynamic concert opener that reimagines Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" with contemporary rhythms and textures. ​

• "City Trees": Reflects the courage to embrace new experiences and is dedicated to the Lesbian and Gay Band Association. ​

• "Vigilante": Pays homage to classic TV theme songs like "Batman" and "Hawaii Five-O," capturing the essence of vigilante characters.
